Volunteers are the lifeline of Lynchburg Daily Bread. Each day, 10-12 volunteers prepare, cook and serve the meal to the homeless and hungry of our community. This tremendous contribution by over 1,000 volunteers annually keeps our costs down significantly. Our greatest need of volunteers is on Sundays and Mondays. Generally, civic/community groups volunteer on Saturdays; in fact, all of our Saturdays are filled for 2016!
Volunteers are hard at work at the Daily Bread from 8:30a-1pm, with shifts ranging from 2- 4 hours. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more details and to get on our volunteer schedule. In 2015, Volunteers contributed 14,302 hours – a value of $356,145(more than our operating budget!) We simply couldn’t fulfill our mission without these wonderful and giving people.
